Challenges

Our client was selling their products on Amazon. However, after analysis of data, they figured out that the average time spent by customers on a webpage was very little, and not enough to make a sale. The client hence felt there was a need to engage with the customers through more meaningful content. When they reached out to us, we noticed in our audit that the product descriptions had irrelevant details, images were very generic, the product pages had inconsistent formatting, and the descriptions lacked trending keywords.

In some cases, third-party platforms like Amazon did not update the image even after it was uploaded at the client’s end. The client could not deal with the problem through automation alone and that is where we stepped in for them.

Solution

We realized that maintaining accuracy along with timely delivery was a challenge. Our team used automation to upload content but manually verified it, thus ensuring a more secure content updating method. Repetitive words in product details were removed, keywords were updated, images without a message were replaced with informative images, and templates were created for product description. Also, in the auto-parts industry, specification is significant. Our content team ensured that right and relevant details were put on the page.

Outcome

The product descriptions on the Amazon page has all the details as before but in a much more condensed form. More than 2400 product descriptions were enriched with TAT of 1 week per 1000 product descriptions.
